Durga Puja
Sharadotsav is an annual Hindu festival celebrated in South Asia in which the Hindu goddess Durga is worshiped.In this, six days are celebrated as Mahalaya, Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami and Vijayadashami. The dates of celebrating Durga Puja are according to the traditional Hindu calendar andthe fortnight associated with this festival is known as Devi Paksha, Devi Pakhwada.

The ceremony was completely family. It is said that Pal and Senvans in Bengal greatly encouraged Durga Puja.
It is said that after 1757, in 1790, kings, feudatories and zamindars organized public Durga Puja for the first time in Gupti Padha of Nadia district of Bengal. After this, Durga Puja also became popular in normal life and it became a tradition to celebrate it in a grand way.
